News Update Japan

Do you ask yourself, if it is still appropriate to go to Japan after all that has happened? We asked ourselves the same question. Thus, we talked to our contacts in Tokyo. Rather than telling us not to come, they fear that after the natural disaster and the Fukushima incident, people will stop traveling to Japan. This would not only further hurt Japan economically, but also slow down the way back to normality. They would appreciate it, if this disaster does not hinder people from visiting Japan and experiencing their culture.

Regarding security, we kept us up to date about the nuclear plants in Fukushima by reading different Japanese newspapers, discussing with experts on nuclear energy and being in contact with our people in Tokyo. According to this first-hand information, it is safe to travel to Tokyo this September. If, against all odds, it is not safe enough to visit Tokyo, we will reschedule the trip to Osaka. Osaka is the second biggest economic centre of Japan and thus we will be able to provide you with a similar program as in Tokyo.

We look forward to your application!

Note: Consider that until information in the Western media reaches you, it has been translated several times. A good source for information on nuclear security is http://mitnse.com/ and for Japanese news http://www.asahi.com/english/ or http://www3.nhk.or.jp/daily/english/.
