Matthias Wild

I am currently studying International Affairs and Governance in St. Gallen and plan to graduate in 2010. I am intrigued by foreign countries and cultures not only since my exchange semester in Singapore in 2009. Thanks to my three month internship with a Swiss company in a small Chinese town, I know what it means to lower one’s western standards and to live in an environment with considerable barriers in terms of language and culture. Since participating in the study trip to Washington D.C. and New York in 2007, I am profoundly convinced by IFIL and its trips. Therefore I am delighted to organize this year’s study trip to Uganda and Rwanda.

Max Comtesse

I am currently studying Sociology and Communication Sciences at the University of Lucerne, where I am doing a major in sociology and a minor in politics. In order to satisfy my thirst for knowledge about different cultures, I am additionally attending courses in religion and ethnology. I have been able to follow my interest in these subjects during brief stays in northern Africa and Canada.
I also work as a tennis instructor and during my winter break I teach guests from all over the world how to ski. After a long season in Saint Moritz I am looking forward to an interesting and challenging experience in the African sun.
