Andreas Graf

I was born at March 11 1984 in Wattwil (CH) and spent my childhood in the Toggenburg. During the highschool I had the possibility to travel different continents as trumpet player of the youth orchestra “il mosaico”. This aroused a deep interest for cultures different of my own background, what led me for longer stays to Burundi, Mongolia, Palestine and Egypt. In August 2007 I organized an intercultural study trip to Israel-Palestine. At the moment I am studying in the eighth semester “International Relations” at the Graduate Institute for International and Development studies” in Geneva.

Born and raised in a little village close to Zurich, I decided in 2006 to exchange cows and farms with the “Jet d’Eau” and “Palais the Nations” and I am now studying International Relations at the University of Geneva. After participating in various Model United Nations (MUNs) around Europe, I decided dedicate large portions of my free time to the GIMUN (Geneva International MUN) where I am currently active as President. With my GIMUN-mandate running out in spring 08, I have enough time to co-organise the two ‘GIMUN-IFIL’ journeys to the US.

Since 5th of February 1983 I'm enjoying life every single day. Growing up in the tiny village of Libingen near St.Gallen, I was always fascinated of the world map on my desk. My theoretical background studying "International Relations" at the Graduate Institute for International and Development studies” in Geneva goes hand in hand with my practical experiences of an exchange year in Spain, internships in El Salvador and Honduras and organizing political-cultural projects with Venezuela.
