Mexico 25.08.2011 - 08.09.2011

Bianca Hunkeler

Born on September 12th 1986, I grew up in a small village in the countryside of Lucerne. During high school I started taking Spanish classes and got fascinated with the Latin-American culture. After finishing the Matura, the first thing I wanted to do was going to Mexico, which I did... -and stayed six months, teaching German and enjoying the Mexican way of life. Since then I returned nearly every summer and Mexico definitely became something like my second homeland.
In 2010 I finished my Bachelor studies in Cultural Science/ Political Science at University of Lucerne. Again, I was driven by the wish to travel around and get to know other countries, so I started a nine month trip through South America, which begun with the IFIL trip to Colombia in February. I enjoyed it a lot and got so fascinated by the idea of intercultural study trips, that already then I thought about organizing one to Mexico. Back home and still in travelling mood, I am now turning these plans into reality. I am sure that it is going to be a great experience and I hope to share my knowledge about Mexico and its fascinating culture with many people on this IFIL-trip.
