Anna Diem

Languages and milkshakes are passions of this Swiss free spirit! Anna Diem made her entrance to the world in the city of white socks (Aarau), but her heart knows no borders, and neither does her globetrotting. She repeatedly took off those socks and travelled to India in quest of excessive amounts of mango juice, continued with forrò dancing in Brazil, Português learning in Lisboa and she made it through a Swedish winter. Fearlessly Anna smiles in any situation, except towards intolerance and narrow-mindedness. Polyglot by default, her curiosity brought her to conquer the Middle East and the Arabic cryptic language. Eight months later she is excelling well beyond taxi Arabic and yalla yalla, confident in conversations about women’s rights…and falafel! Trust Anna for updates on politics, music, salsa, and unbelievable amounts of food! Adventure follows Anna, or the other way around?

Maia Juel Giorgio

The story of Maia, the world citizen with a weakness for hummus, heavy social realism movies, second hand markets and French philosophy teachers, started on an idyllic Swedish island, where the seed of curiosity within her to see more started sprouting, now manifesting itself in fervent reading, love for adventure, a never ceasing restlessness, love for food of all kinds and music! Her studies of Political Science have taken her to an anti-authoritarian University in Denmark, conservative and rigorous teaching methods in France and finally bella vita in Rome. She complemented her six months of community building activities as an intern in an NGO in Jordan with language studies and extensive travels in the region. Her fire for discussing sensitive political and social issues is a given and makes her flinch neither from fighting for gender justice in an Arab soccer team nor from advocating gay rights towards a bearded Hizbollah supporter.
