Visit of the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine together with a local doctor of T.C.M. He will show us the university hospital and the Museum of T.C.M.

A small village with the Zhuang ethnic minority living there and working on the terraced rice fields for more than 600 years.

Explore the rural style of living. Huangyao Ancient town is famous for its scenic landscape of mountains, old houses, temples and trees, which are important motives of traditional Chinese painting.

Walking Tour of “Village Within a City”
Visit Shipai, one of Guangzhou’s largest “villages within a city”—villages that have been swallowed up by Guangzhou’s urban development.

Student Exchange Day 2:
Interactive activity with disabled local students

Meeting with local LGBT NGO
Visit the offices of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. Meet with group leader A Qiang to learn about social change of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community. View film documenting experiences of parents of LGBT people.

Swiss Culture Open House at a local bar in Guangzhou
This is the time for us to talk to locals about Swiss culture. We will organise an open event to everyone interested in Switzerland at a local bar.

Visit a primary school of migrant worker families
Meet with students and teachers at the school established to serve the children of migrant families in the city.

Behind “Made in China”: Mass production and wholesale market
Walk through mass production factories, its surroundings and visit Onelink Plaza, the most popular wholesale market, selling toys made in China.

Departure to Hong Kong

Contemporary Chinese literature
Meeting with a social scientist from a think tank with topics on cultural policy, cultural heritage and cultural rights.

Western Media in China
Meeting with a journalist of a Western media company.

Social change and New Generation in China
Meeting with a China expert talking about the new generation of internet, media and social movements.

Visit Hong Kong’s port and meet a trading company
Learn more about the history of Hong Kong as a “window of China” and meet a Swiss import and export company.

Workshop with VICEF
Learn about mainland migrant mothers in Hong Kong. This workshop is designed to be interactive, involving mainland migrants and you. This is a great opportunity to listen first hand to migrant mothers’ life stories, learn their points of views and exchange ideas with each other.

Environmental politics of China
Interactive lecture by a Professor of environmental politics.
