The group consists of a maximum of 15 participants and 2 organizers.
Meetings and presentations will be held in English if possible, otherwise they are translated into English. Therefore basic English language skills are recommended.
Hiking
Please consider that there is an approximately eight hours hike on this trip that is a fixed part of the programme.
Visa
Responsibility of the participants.
The participants do not need to get their visa in advance. The easiest way to get a visa is to just buy on arrival in Kathmandu Airport. You only need one photo as used for passports. You can pay either in Swiss Francs, Euro or Dollar. Visa fees: 25USD (15 days); for those who want to stay longer: 40USD (30 days) and 100USD (90 days).
Climate-neutral flying:
Through a cooperation with myclimate.ch, IFIL.ch favors climate-neutral traveling. The organizers will all pay a CO2-compensation that will be reinvested in projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It is up to you as participant whether you will join us. The compensation for the 6’800 kilometers to Kathmandu (one way) is 36 CHF.
Vaccinations
We recommend each participant to get in touch with their doctor to inform themselves about vaccinations and other medical precautionary measures they may need in Nepal (but don’t hesitate to ask Rebekka how she handled it on her past trips to Nepal).
Each participant will receive additional information after the application period is over.
